Music Ministry
ADULT CHOIR leads the congregation in the music liturgy and provides special musical offerings throughout the year. Adult Choir alternates between the 9:00 am and 11:00 am weekend Masses. We also sing for Holy Days, Christmas, and Holy Week. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 6:30-8:00 pm in the choir loft. Anyone ages high school and older is invited to participate.
HANDBELL CHOIR is a multi-generational group open to ages 9 to 99. If you can count to four, know your left from your right, and can see in color, you have all the skills you need to be in this group. Our three octaves of Schulmerich Handbells are graciously on long-term loan from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Berlin. The Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 pm in the choir loft.
COLSOLATION CHOIR is a bereavement ministry that supports the cantor in singing familiar hymns at funerals. The Consolation Choir’s only rehearsal commitment is 40 minutes prior to funerals, which are typically scheduled on weekdays. Choir members are contacted as funerals are scheduled and have the list of hymn tunes in advance.
CHILDREN’S CHOIR is open to school-aged children. This group sings several times throughout the year for Masses and special occasions. The Children’s Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 3:45-4:30 pm, throughout the school year, in Barry Hall.
INSTRUMENTALISTS who play wind and string instruments at the high school level or above are welcome to provide instrumental support for the music liturgy at any Weekend Masses.
CANTORS are teenagers or adults with solo voices who lead the Responsorial Psalm and Gospel Acclamation, hymns, and music liturgy. A meeting with the Director of Music Ministries to assess vocal readiness is needed to be considered as a cantor. Cantors sing at the weekend and holy day Masses throughout the year.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP singers and instrumentalists are welcome to join our band "Raised in Glory" which provides music for monthly services and special events throughout the year. Rehearsals are scheduled as needed; they focus on musical collaboration and move quickly. A meeting with the Director of Music Ministries and the group’s director is needed prior to rehearsals.
JAM SESSIONS are in our second year! If you play an instrument, or sing, or used to, or want to try, come jam with us! We are very informal and inclusive Wednesdays at 7:00 pm in Barry Hall. For more information, email Greg Malette at regalmalette@gmail.com.
